it's been 50 years since the war. Since the world burned on top of us. I've seen pictures of the world when it was beautiful, when the air was fresh and the monsters weren't around. I've heard people say the world will return to that some day.
**** liars. Giving the kids false hope, so when they grow up and try to save the world they get killed by the beasts.
Me? i've seen the world, it's not pretty and I don?t want to spend more time there then I need to. Part of me wants to die right here, put a gun to my skull and end it while i'm ahead. If you can call living on a train ?ahead.?
but the ?priest? says that killing yourself is suicide, and suicide is a sin. But when I point this gun at one of those monsters, he calls me a ?religious warrior.? I could care less what he thinks, but killing myself would be the easy way out. No, I intend to leave a record of my life behind, so maybe, maybe, I can help some other sorry soul down the road.
My Name is Wheatly, I have no last name and I live on the savior, a train of people who believe there's a patch of the world that survived the war, that has no monsters, no sinners. We travel west, ALWAYS west. Most of the people on the train have been brain washed by the priest, a man who claims to have a magic book, and if you do what the book says you'll be saved.
I don't believe that crock, but they do protect me from the beasts, so I guess i'll learn to tolerate them.
Because you might live decades after i'm gone, i'll tell you what my world is like.
According to the historian, an old man who claims to have once lived in a great catacomb of knowledge, the world used to be a very peaceful place. Well, maybe not peaceful, but not like it is now. According to him, there was once a great war between humans, and some unknown creatures. They appeared outta no where, and ripped through the human military's, which were organized troops and war machines.
And after time, people lost, and the monsters took over. Except they didn't lose, they are still around and will one day take the world back. At least that's what he says. As far as i'm concerned people have lost and now we are just fighting for survival.
I don't have time to write much more. I have to go collect supplies for the savior. If I make it back, i'll continue this, if not, assume i'm dead.
